Terms of Service

The rules for using PeekInside. By creating an account you agree to them.
1. The service
PeekInside provides dynamic QR codes: a printed code resolves through our servers, so you can change where it points without reprinting. We may add, change or remove features over time.
2. Your account
- You must be at least 13, and provide accurate information.
- You're responsible for activity under your account and for keeping it secure.
- Tell us promptly at support@peekinside.io if you suspect unauthorised use.
3. Your content
You keep ownership of everything you put into a code. You grant us only the licence needed to host, process and serve that content to people who scan your codes.
You are responsible for having the right to use what you upload, and for what it says.
4. Acceptable use
Don't use PeekInside to:
- Point codes at malware, phishing pages or anything designed to deceive.
- Host or link to illegal content, or content that infringes someone else's rights.
- Harass, threaten or impersonate anyone.
- Place codes in public in order to collect scan data from people deceptively.
- Send automated traffic that degrades the service, or try to break its security.
- Resell the service as your own without a written agreement with us.
We can suspend or remove codes and accounts that break these rules, in serious cases without notice.
5. Scan data and privacy obligations
Scans of your codes record IP addresses and approximate locations. Where the law treats that as personal data, youare the controller of it. If you put codes somewhere the public will scan them, it's on you to give whatever notice your jurisdiction requires. Our handling is described in the Privacy Policy.
6. Plans, billing and refunds
- Paid plans bill monthly in advance through Stripe until cancelled.
- Cancel any time from Manage billing; access continues to the end of the paid period.
- Fees are non-refundable except where the law requires otherwise.
- We'll give at least 30 days' notice by email before any price increase.
- If a payment fails we may downgrade the account to the free tier. Your codes keep resolving; paid features stop.
7. Availability
We work to keep code resolution highly available but don't promise uninterrupted service, and we're not liable for losses from downtime. Planned maintenance is announced in advance where practical.
8. Cancellation and deletion
You can delete codes or your account at any time. Deleting a code stops it resolving — anything already printed will stop working, which is permanent. We may terminate accounts that breach these terms or are inactive for over 24 months, with notice where we can.
9. Disclaimers and liability
The service is provided “as is” without warranties to the fullest extent the law allows. To that same extent, our total liability for any claim is limited to what you paid us in the 12 months before it arose, and we're not liable for indirect or consequential loss.
Nothing here limits liability that can't legally be limited.
10. Changes
We may update these terms; material changes are notified by email or in the product at least 14 days before taking effect. Continuing to use PeekInside after that means you accept them.

Not legal advice
This document is a starting point written for a small product, not advice from a lawyer. Have a solicitor review it before you rely on it commercially, particularly the liability and data-controller sections.
